This was bought for my son-in-law, off his wish list. I thought he already knew how to tear down everything on earth, but the book makes it very interesting. One night a week, he and my daughter do a teardown together and learn things they never knew before!

Are you a take apart person?

Dr. Bergeron has done an excellent job of taking things apart, dangerous things, so we don't have to. Along the way, he exposes the true nature and dangers of compact fluorescent light bulbs among others. And he definately influenced my purchase of a bathroom nightlight, even though I have yet to take it apart. I eagerly await a sequel to this book. Please, Dr. Bergeron?

Awesome Dictionary!!

I needed this dictionary for a simple coding class that I am taking, but am finding it very interesting and helpful as well in explaining the details of medical illnesses and diagnoses for complications that occur during operations, etc. I am very pleased with this book. The graphics are very intense, so if you have a sensitive stomach, I wouldn't suggest getting it, but I've been in the medical field for 20+ years, so am fascinated by it. Plus, what haven't you seen on TV already, right? LOL Good luck to those of you looking for for a dictionary, but if you want something detailed and structured, this is the book for you!

I have used this resource even more than I expected to during my nursing school program. It is loaded with color pictures, and definitions are easy to understand. I highly recommend this medical dictionary to any health career professional or student, or any person trying to really understand what their doctor is telling them!

On a cold, winter night in November of 1981, Cassie Hansen was abducted from a "family service" at the Jehovah Lutheran Church in St. Paul.

A Monster in The Church

This is a brief narration of the kidnapping of a young girl , Cassie , who then killed and left in a dumpster. The police early on find someone whom they believe to be the perpetrator but are finding it difficult to prove. This story tells how they finally succeed in this case. A sad ending to this little girls life. I RECOMMEND .

Terry Barrett is Professor of Art Education, with a joint appointment in the Department of Art, at The Ohio State University, where he is the recipient of a distinguished teaching award for courses in criticism and aesthetics within education. He has authored four books: Interpreting Art: Reflecting, Wondering and Responding; Criticizing Art: Understanding the Contemporary (2nd ed.); Criticizing Photographs: An Introduction to Understanding Images (4th ed.); and Talking about Student Art. He edited the anthology Lessons for Teaching Art Criticism, published articles in Aesthetic Education, Afterimage, Art Education, Exposure, Camera-Lucida, Dialogue, Cultural Research in Art Education, New Advocate, New Art Examiner, Studies in Art Education, Teaching Artist Journal, Theory into Practice, Visual Arts Research, and many chapters in edited books. Simply to clarifying the mind for studying art/design by categorizing the elements of art making and meaning into : Subject Matter (content), Form, Context and Medium. It would be fruitful for student alike who willing to learn about writing his own artist statement on a more scholarly-based. =)

About the Author

Mike Ashcraft is cofounder and senior pastor of Port City Community Church―a large nondenominational church in Wilmington, North Carolina. He’s been married to his high-school sweetheart, Julie, for 20 years.

Rachel Olsen is the author of It’s No Secret: Revealing Divine Truths Every Woman Should Know, and a national speaker working with Proverbs 31 Ministries. Rachel and her husband, Rick, are both on faculty at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

Preparing for my seventh year at this

I've engaged in this for six years and have benefited enormously.

This is no self help program. It's climbing into a smelting pot and inviting God to refine one area of your life for a full year. (Full disclosure: previous words never go away!)

From experience I knew its value. But what surprised me about the book was that it goes well beyond "My One Word". Yes, the practice is explained and tips are given for choosing your word. But the beauty of this book is its attention to the broader area of spiritual formation. It has a pastoral quality - an invitation from someone who cares for your soul.

"My One Word" is entertaining and easy to read. It's full of life illustrations and actual 'Words' from past years.

Give it a try and watch God work in you.

Ashcraft uses anecdotes and scripture to lay out and illustrate how to choose a single word upon which to focus throughout the year. By concentrating all your efforts on this one word, God can bring great changes to your life. The book is written in a conversational style that makes it easy to listen to and gives step by step instructions on how to prayerfully choose your one word and what to do with it once you have chosen it. For those whose mind wanders quickly from their many resolutions, this is a viable alternative with probable life-changing results.
